FAQ
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A DIETITIAN AND A NUTRITIONIST?
In short, dietitians are more specialized nutritionists. Due to university degrees and training, they've got the ability for example to work in hospitals and treat eating disorders and illnesses.
A nutritionist, in my opinion, should know the basics about nutrition, healthy foods and digestion, and body processes. We can support people to implement a healthy lifestyle or under circumstances work together with someone's doctor to help clients make changes to their diet due to a health condition.
But it is important to know that in order to become a nutritionist it is not mandatory or regulated to take a course!
This means the level of knowledge can vary greatly between each nutritionist and you should always check their certificates and training.
WHY WILL I NOT GET A MEAL PLAN?
I decided against meal plans for several reasons.
First, every person has their own preferences and habits. We are transforming what exists, not applying a one plan fits all.
Second, I struggle to follow them personally and I am not teaching what I can't do myself.
Third, I deeply believe that each of our bodies is unique and everyone can learn to listen to their specific needs. Therefore I teach and encourage intuitive eating.
At last, there are already tons of different meal plans for every lifestyle out there.
DO I REALLY HAVE TO FILL OUT THE FOOD DIARY?
Yes. The two-week dietary records are an absolutely necessary minimum for me to be able to give you good advice.
The more detailed and honest you are, the better I can support you.
I know and understand how hard and annoying it is to fill these out but trust me, it gets easier and it is definitely worth it.
I HAVE AN ILLNESS, CAN I STILL BOOK A SERVICE?
Please contact me to discuss the details.
It depends on the condition you have, its severity, and what your doctor recommends.
WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENT ARE ACCEPTED?
Online payments via bank transfer are now available. You can also pay cash by arrival if applicable.
Either way, payment has to be made before the first appointment starts and is only refundable in full by cancelation minimum 24h prior.
Payment plans are available, please contact me.
IS THERE A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN VEGAN AND PLANT-BASED?
This depends on who you ask I guess.
For me, veganism is a whole lifestyle. It covers areas like food, clothing, and/or living and its aims range from minimizing harm to sentient beings and the environment to the own health.
Plant-based refers mostly only to foods.
WILL YOU TRY AND MAKE ME VEGAN?
No. I will of course not force you to 'convert to veganism'.
However, according to and in line with the newest research and governmental guidelines, I am supporting and encouraging a (mostly) plant-based nutrition.
WHAT ABOUT PETS?
Since I'm having quite some experience in animal medicine and pet keeping you might wonder if I offer animal nutrition as well. I don't have any coaching specifically for pets yet.
Nevertheless if you have any problems or questions about your cat's or dog's diet, including any trouble with skin or allergies, please don't hesitate to ask! I'd love to help your furry friend.
